I was so impressed a few weeks back when I watched celeb hair stylist and photographer couple Jen Atkin and Mike Rosenthal's debut of their new L.A. home. Built from the ground up and designed by them with Consort Design, it's no surprise that the end result is a beautiful piece of art. Domino posted their home tour along with an interview where they showed how they partnered with AllModern for many of their furnishings. It's so refreshing to see that even a couple with a celeb-budget would take on their home design with a High/Low approach.
For the vast majority of us, it's completely impractical that every piece of furniture and decor is a designer item. We need those inexpensive items to blend perfectly with our nicer finds to create balance in our homes and to achieve the look of approachable luxury.
I'm always on the hunt for good "cheap" pieces to incorporate in my designs. Pieces that will hold up and make an impact in a space, and not stand out as an eyesore or appear as if we cut some corners.
This new series, "Cheap, Good" is where I will share with you all my home finds of different categories so you can save you change and still create a beautiful design. I wanted to start with rugs because they are the foundation of almost every room. They get very costly very quickly and these are the gems that I have in my back pocket when I need them! And guess what - they're ALL 8x10s and ALL under $350. You can't beat that!
